About Us

We are a state economic development agency reporting to the Governor of Virginia through the Secretary of Commerce and Trade.

 

Mission Statement
The mission of the Department of Business Assistance is to promote economic growth by helping Virginia businesses prosper.

Organization
We are led by Agency Director Lynda Sharp Anderson. She was appointed by the Governor on July 16, 2008. VDBA is organized into three operational teams:

• Business Information Services
  
• Virginia Jobs Investment Program
  
• Virginia Small Business Financing Authority
  

An Administrative Team supports the three operational teams and two oversight boards appointed by the Governor:
